Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 18.5 inches in length, Crown W 75 marked on the spine, with a unit marking on the guard of 170.R.12.117 (Baden Infantry Regiment 170, 12th Company, 117th Weapon). The blade is clean, with scattered areas of surface spotting along its length, steel patina finish to the guard, and a nice brass patina to the grip.Sound black leather bodied scabbard with deeply struck issue numbers on its reverse. Brass throat and chape, with a standing loop instead of an elongated frog stud. I often associated the standing loop to Bavaria, but perhaps Baden used them as well. A nice solid example from our own collection.
