Original era manufacture. This is an interesting sword, it's German made and proofed but based on a French pattern. Crown W proofs on the brass guard and blade spine, no other markings to be seen. 31 inch curved steel blade with a steel patina finish. There are some scattered nail catchers along the cutting edge, it still looks OK. Mellow brass patina to the guard and pommel. Original leather wrapped grip with twisted leather binding. Steel scabbard with two carrying rings, might have had a nickel finish at one time. The drag is missing.
