Original era manufacture. Large frame, Prussian 1845 pattern brass buckle with a large german silver center disc bearing the Bavarian motto, In Treue Fest. Reverse shows three solder points instead of the later two solder points on the 1895 pattern buckle. The Royal Bavarian Army was rather late in adopting the Prussian style buckle, they did not aprove its use until around 1887. They instead used a simple frame buckle with single prong prior.
