Original era manufacture. A large pattern stamped brass shako, or helmet plate measuring 130 x 140 mm.There are 12 mounting holes in the edge of the plate to mount it to the piece of headgear. There is an old collector tag on the reverse identifying this to the era of 1748-1756.
