Original period manufacture. I originally listed this as a Franco-Prussian War era CDV of a Landwehr Infantry NCO in full marching order. I should have taken a closer look as he is armed with the 1871 pattern Mauser rifle. Since HG Wells novel "The Time Machine" won't be published until 1895, that gets ruled out too. Frankfurt an der Oder photographer's logo on the reverse.
