Original era manufacture. Pressed black wool felt body, with black leather visors and top. There are two white cotton bands around the circumference of the shako, just below the top, at the front is a Landwehr brass plate with a silver Iron Cross center. Flat, brass chinscales, the side bosses being secured to the shako body by brass brads. White and black cloth removable field badge. Wide black leather sweatband with surface dryness. Very sound and in a large size, about a 58.
