Original era manufacture. A rather well-used example from our own collection. Steel blade measuring 18 inches in length, exhibiting a dark patina surface with cleaned corrosion in evidence, the tip is rounded. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and locking bar, with a dark brass patina finish to the grip. The grip exhibits a 3-step modification to the top of the spine, one of the varieties done by the Royal Bavarian Army to fit the 1871 rifle.Steel mounted, black leather bodied scabbard with a standing loop favored by the Bavarians. The stitching is sound and the blade fits the scabbard properly.
