Original era manufacture. Scarce, Franco-Prussian War era ammunition pouch for the famous Zundnadelgewehr, or Needle Gun introduced in 1841. Black leather pouch with brown, possibly once white leather straps indicating issue to soldiers in Grenadier regiments, Fusiliers used black leather straps. There is an old repair being the closure flap being resewn, unit marked on the underside of the flap IR 74 and what looks to be a date of 1867.
