Original era manufacture. A very clean example, with matching regimental markings on the guard and scabbard throat.Polished steel blade measuring 19 inches in length, with evidence to old service sharpening on the cutting edge. Scattered areas of old cleaned corrosion, no deep pitting, PDL makers logo on the ricasso. Two piece brass guard and grip, with several original proof marks visible, unit marked 103. R. 12. 211 (4th Royal Saxon Infantry Regiment Nr.103).Black leather bodied scabbard with a brass throat and chape, matching unint markings on the scabbard throat. The leather is basically sound, displaying an old crease midway down its length, with typical scuffing andflaking to the leather surface. It is not weak or floppy, just normal age and wear. We have several examples of these in our own collection, they are difficult to find with matching unit numbers.
