Original era manufacture. A sound example, made by Weyersberg, which is unit marked on the guard, 43.R.E.1.244, and dated 88 on its spine. The blade is bright, with scattered spotting and staining from age. Dark steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with original finish wooden grips in good repair. This example still retains its muzzle ring.Sound, black leather bodied scabbard, stitching is tight, with a dark steel patina finish to the chape and throat. Mismatched unit numbers on the reverse of the scabbard throat.
