Original era manufacture. Unmarked polished steel blade, with no pitting or sharpening, just scattered areas of staining on both sides. Red felt washer at the base of the blade, chromed steel finish to the pommel and guard. Sound, original finish wooden grips secured with two steel rivets.Brown pigskin leather frog, unmarked, with sound stitching. Black leather bodied scabbard with chromed brass fittings. The stitching is sound with a nice luster to the leather. Wrapped around the waist of the bayonet frog is an original knot, with the strap displaying the Prussian colors of white and black, as does the ball.
