Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 32 inches in length, with a faint etched design on the spine and both sides of the blade. Runs fairly straight and true with a slight drift to the left about 8 inches back of the point. No nicks to the edge, nice luster to the steel surface, just some light mottling along it's length. Nice quality gilded brass guard and lion head pommel, shagreen wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire. Blue steel finished scabbard with two brass bands, one of which has a brass carrying ring. The contrast between the blue steel and brass is very attractive. Dent in the scabbard body on both sides about 5 inches from the drag. Both throat screws are present. Really, a very handsome old sword.
