Original period manufacture. Polished steel blade with a clipped point, measuring 33 inches in length, running straight and true. Clemmens & Jung Solingen on the ricasso, with issue stamps on the spine, Crown W 90. The blade is very clean with no issues, just some very minor wear from service use. Ornate brass grip with a lionhead pommel, fishskin wrapped grip, bound with three strands of wire in good repair. The obverse langet displays crossed swords and four small drill holes where a decorative device, perhaps a cypher, once resided. Wrapped around the grip is an original officers quality sword knot of leather with wire decoration. The leather shows typical fraying from wear but is as yet unbroken, but is extremely fragile.Natural finish steel scabbard, which probably had a black painted surface at one time, both throat screws remain intact, double suspension loop, with a few, very minor dents. .
