Original period manufacture. Polished steel quill-back blade measuring 31 inches in length, runs straight and true with the name Eisenhauer etched onto the surface. Heavy cast brass grip with a lionhead pommel, fishskin wrapped grip, bound with three strands of wire in good repair. Wrapped around the grip is an original officers quality sword knot of leather with wire decoration. The leather shows typical fraying from wear but is as yet unbroken. Black painted steel scabbard, with both throat screws remaining intact, single suspension loop with some minor surface denting above the guard. The paint finish has been re-applied being done with a high degree of expertise. All in all a very clean and presentable Imperial German Cavalry weapon.
