Original era manufacture. Based on the French M1829 Artillery Sword, a pattern adopted by other countries as well, including the USA with our pattern M1840. This sword displays a crown cypher FW 48 on the spine in addition to other cyphers on the brass guard and a rack/weapon number 12. The blade measures 31 inches in length, shows evidence of old cleaned pitting but remains bright. Leather wrapped grip showing wear in a few spots and bound with twisted brass wire. Dent free steel scabbard which shows evidence of cleaned corrosion, S&K marked on the drag.
