Original era manufacture. Similar in design to the Bavarian pattern 1826, but with a much more curved blade. Bright polished steel blade in amazing original condition, measuring 34.5 inches in length and running straight and true. The spine is marked Crown FW 49, Crown B, and on the reverse ricasso, the makers initials S&K, with a Crown L 8, proof next to them. Above these markings on the blood groove are two crow's feet which I believe are British export markings.Heavy steel three branch guard, with a steel pommel and backstrap with a crown proof on one side. Wooden bodied grip which retains most of its black leather covering. The securing screw for the finger loop is present.Steel patina finish scabbard with two carrying rings, dent-free, with no corrosion issues. The drag also displays the S&K logo.
