Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 18 inches in length, with a fuller on each side, running through to the point. Rabbits head trademark on the obverse ricasso. The blade rface displays evidence of old corrosion pitting, now with a clean polished surface. Brass S-shaped guard with a stag hoof at each end, real stag horn grip. Brass trimmed, black leather bodied scabbard, the leather of which may be an old replacement. WWII black leather bayonet frog which has had the scabbard jammed into it, breaking the stud hole in the process. I found the rabbit trademark on page 150, of German Swords and Sword Makers by Richard H. Bezdek. There it is identified as Friedrich Pather 1777-1861.
