Original era manufacture. Plated quill-back blade measuring 29.5 inches in length, running straight and true. The blade is in very nice condition, no spotting or staining along it's length, the only minor detraction is when I run my fingers along it's length I can feel a few nail catchers on the edge. On both sides of the base of the blade, extending up 5.5 inches are etched panels with a gilt finish. On the top of the spine is the retailer's name, Hast & Whithoff, KGL. HOFL.Dresden, also with a fire gilt finish. The obverse displays the Saxon royal cypher and Eisenhauer name, and the reverse the Saxon coat of arms. Plated alloy guard, back strap and pommel with each side of the guard hinged to fold upwards. Fishskin wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire. Dent free black painted steel scabbard with two suspension bands, missing the lower ring. Around 90% of the original black paint finish remains. A very handsome sword overall.
