Original era manufacture. German Model 1889 pattern enlisted sword and scabbard. The triple etched blade measures 33 inches in length with a chromed finish, no makers proof on the ricasso. The blade runs straight and true with a few nail catchers along the cutting edge. Single blue panel on the obverse declaring the unit to be 2, Hannov. Ulanen-Reg.14 and below, PENNINSULA, WATERLOO, GARZIA-HERNANDEZ which honors it's service with the British forces during the Napoleonic Wars. Chromed alloy folding guard with a molded hard rubber grip, both of which are damage free. Dent free steel scabbard with a chrome finish, now showing its age in the form of speckling and flaking along its length. Nice old sword with an honored history of the regiment it represents.
