Original era manufacture. A clean example of a sword pattern adopted in 1889 for Infantry officers of the Imperial Army. Polished steel blade measuring 30.5 inches in length, running straight and true with only some minor age staining and a small nick in the edge, more felt than seen. WK&C proof on the reverse ricasso. Pleasing brass patina finish to the guard and pommel, the right side of the guard folds up for wear. The leather finger loop is intact and pliable. Fish skin wrapped grip bound with triple strand wire. Dent free plated finish steel scabbard with two suspension bands, missing one of the rings. Both of the throat screws are present. A service quality sword.
