Original era manufacture. German Imperial era child's sword with a J. A. Henkels maker mark and name proof on the ricasso. Made in the form of a Prussian M1889 Infantry officers sword with nearly the same quality as a full-size service model. Plated finish steel blade which runs fairly straight & true with a rounded point. Fish skin wrapped grip bound with a single strand of twisted brass wire. Original finish, black painted steel scabbard, with most of the original finish remaining. The Austrian style sword knot was wrapped around the guard at the time of our purchase. The top of the guard will pop out from under the pommel cap, it can easily be pushed back into position.
