Original era manufacture. Polished steel, curved blade mounted sword measuring 30 inches in blade length. The blade runs straight and true, with evidence of old cleaned corrosion and service sharpening. The steel is bright with old oil in view along its surface. Marked in the spine Crown FW 50.Thick steel single branch guard with langets, matching finish backstrap and pommel. Clear unit markings on the guard A.M.III.3.13 and F.W. 65, with matching unit numbers on the scabbard. Black leather wrapped ribbed grip in sound condition. Blue finished steel scabbard with unit numbers on the throat, missing one throat screw, surface denting along its length.
