Original period manufacture. The quill back pattern blade measures 29.5 inches in length, with a slight drift to the right about 5 inches back from the point. A damascus-like surface pattern decorates both sides of the blade, back-to-back Eickhorn trademark on the reverse ricasso. The blade is clean, there are scattered nicks in the edge more felt than seen, with cleaned corrosion pitting at the point. Ornate brass double folding guard and lion head grip with what appears to be a natural bone grip. There are a few small cracks in the grip surface but nothing serious. Triple strand grip wire in sound condition. Black painted steel scabbard with a cut-out at the top for a lock mechanism.
