Original period manufacture. A very handsome looking tunic in dark green wool, with black collar and cuffs with red piping. Garde litzen on the collars and cuffs, with the red shoulder straps piped in black and white, indicating wear by a One Year Volunteer. The only visible moth damage is on the inside of the collar. Black polished cotton body lining, the lower portion of the lining was removed for some reason, the white cotton tail pockets remain, with the right side pocket retaining a 1912 dated Berlin Tailors label, named to a soldier named Korthans. All of the original Tombak buttons are present, and are bright and shiny. This coat represents the only Garde Schutzen battalion in the Prussian army. A scarce tunic in any condition.
