Original period photography. Tintype image of three Prussian Grenadiers circa 1880's each armed with what I believe to be 1871 pattern rifles. Their white leather belts and straps identify them as serving in one of two Grenadier battalions in a regiment, black belts and straps indicate the Fusilier battalion. The image is housed in an American 1/4 plate case. The cloth hinge tape is torn.
