Item #68477 : Original period manufacture. I have owned this set for 40 years or more, the previous caretaker being the local well-known banjo player Joe Bethancourt. The soldiers always bringing a smile to me when I saw them in their display case. Thirteen hand painted bandsmen, large format, with each figure standing about 4.5 inches in height, from the bottom of the base to the top of the pickelhaube. The underside of each base is marked LINEOL, square shaped, with original paint throughout. As far as I can tell these have never been repainted, some have the typical cracking that occurs with these composition figures, with some scattered areas of paint loss. The most severely affected figure being the soldier holding the jingling johnny. In my opinion the wear just enhances their charm, a guarantee of their originality. ***Please note, there is a WWII artillery figure shown in the main photo, it is not included in the price, merely there to show the size difference.
