Original period manufacture. A very clean condition example in dark blue wool with golden yellow cuffs, piping and collar. Black silk body lining, with white cotton lined sleeves. Both of the sleeve openings show heavy wear, and display old costume house stampings. All buttons are present, with the shoulder strap buttons displaying the number 1 for first squadron. Only one or two small moth bites are present in the body or piping. At some point in the past the body was tailored with the addition of an inch, by 7 inch wide blue wool panel, expertly added to the body of the coat on the sides. Nice large size, about a 40 regular.
