Original era manufacture. A private purchase example of the Prussian M1852 Faschinenmesser, made by the firm of Eickhorn.Polished steel blade measuring 18.5 inches in length with a faint etched design on each side, and on the reverse ricasso, the early back-to-back Eickhorn trademark.Two piece brass guard and grip displaying a nice old brass patina. Sound black leather scabbard body with brass throat and chape.
