Original era manufacture. This one has me stumped, it has features of several edged weapons, all Germanic, that I can find in our library, but none are an exact match. This sword was part of the large collection we purchased last year. Here goes; 34.5 inch, curved, polished steel blade, single edged, with a false edge running back from the point about 8 inches. Mottled steel patina finish without any serious displays of deep corrosion pitting. Lot's of spring left in the steel blade. Three branch steel guard with a curved quillon, and thin steel langets on each side of the grip. Black painted leather grip with cord divided segments. The grip surface has worn in spots revealing the cord beneath. No scabbard.
