Original era manufacture. Massive all steel construction sword with a 32 inch polished steel curved blade which draws easily from the scabbard. Simple leather covered ribbed wooden grip with an intact covering. Steel patina scabbard with two carrying rings, minor amount of surface denting and surface corrosion. A mix of unit marks appear on the weapon, the most prominent is stamped into the guard, B.T.XVIII.3., which we believe indicates a bridging construction unit attached to the 18th Army Corps. A wonderful old sword with no issues beyond normal age and wear.
