Original era manufacture. Polished steel blade measuring 18.5 inches in length, showing evidence of an old attempt at sharpening which has mellowed with age. Clean otherwise, without corrosion issues. P.D. Luneschloss maker marked, with a Crown W 75 proof on the spine, with a Saxon proof below.Dark brass patina finish to the grip, operable lock button, and matching unit marks guard to scabbard throat 108. R. 11. 139 (Royal Saxon Schutzen or Fusilier Rgt Prinz-George Nr. 108). Black leather bodied scabbard with sound stitching and brass throat and chape. At some point in its life, the scabbard throat has been reversed, back to front, with the stitching being visible on the front side now. One of the attaching staples is missing from the chape.
