Original era manufacture. Massive service bayonet adopted for use with the 1871 service rifle. Crown W 75 on the spine, Goulaux & Co, Klingenthal makers name on the ricasso. The blade is very clean, unsharpened, with a nice luster to the surface, no corrosion issues. Unit marked on the steel crossguard 121.R.1E.3.289. (Alt-Wurttemberg, 3rd Rgt. Nr 121).Brass grip with a mellow patina and operable lock button and spring. Original black leather frog, with sound stitching and four brass rivets. The scabbard is incorrect in my opinion with a different type of brass frog stud as shown. However the blade fits the scabbard properly with no problems. There are unit markings on the reverse of the scabbard throat, but are difficult to see due to dust and fear of damaging the frog.
