Original era manufacture. A fine example of a heavy cavalry sword dating from the mid-19th century, quite possibly an import to the United States during the Civil War years. The polished steel blade measures 35 inches in length, it runs straight and true with no issues. Flat top spine which is proofed crown over k, and on the obverse ricasso the initials W.R.K. can be seen beneath the Kirschbaum trademark. Replaced black leather bumper at the base of the blade, sound three branch brass guard and pommel cap. Original leather wrapped grip which is bound with twisted single strand wire. Dent-free steel patina finish scabbard with two suspension rings, Crown C proof on the drag. The blade can be easily inserted and drawn from the scabbard.
