Original era manufacture. Identical to the German army issue S98 bayonet but made for export to Peru. Complete with its original black leather bodied scabbard. The bayonet is very clean no issues with the metal surfaces, beyond some very light staining from cosmoline, really only storage wear. We have been offering these regularly on our site of late, part of a small lot of these recently purchased from an old collection in southern California. There is a 4-digit serial number on the guard, but not one on the frog stud, no Imperial German crown proofs to be seen anywhere, only the Simson & Co. Suhl name on the ricasso.Original finish wooden grips showing light marring from handling and storage, very sound black leather bodied scabbard with tight stitching and bright steel throat. The only issue to comment on is that the ball tip of the scabbard shows staining with some light pitting to the ball tip.
