Original era manufacture. Multi-piece construction, with a magnetic core, plated frame, with a frosted type finish on the reverse. The medal shows honest wear and use, worn by a WWII German veteran in the post 1957 Bundeswehr.Maker marked below the catch L/11, Wilhelm Deumer.While perhaps not having the same allure as a wartime example, it still has a proper place in the lineage of an order established in 1813.
