Original era manufacture. Basically they all started life as printed paper soldiers, which were then cut from their page, and glued down onto thin pieces of oak, which in turn, were carefully carved and rounded to produce these great three-dimensional figures.Each stands around 5 inches in height, most with an identifying tag on the reverse to identify the regiment. My guess as to age would be prior to 1880, due to some uniform details evident on the soldiers, and the brass furniture on the rifles carried by the Jager and Infantryman. They look a great deal like Needle Guns.Honest age and wear, no damage. These are so fun, and a great deal of work went into their fabrication.
