Original era manufacture. A very fine quality officers hat in very clean condition. There is a single cockade on the front indicating pre-1897 regulations as the national red-white-black cockade was not authorized until that time. Black wool body and band with red wool piping. Brown oilcloth sweatband, with a blue cotton lining and a printed silver makers name and logo. No moth damage, the hat has not been crushed or broken, the visor is securely sewn to the body.
