Original era manufacture. A beautiful, private purchase quality enlisted hat as worn by Hussars of the famed 17th, Brunswick Hussar Regiment.Black wool body, with golden yellow piping and ponceau red body. Brunswick pattern deaths head between the national and Brunswick cockades.White silk lining, and a white oilcloth sweatband, both showing wear but no damage. The body and the band of the hat are in beautiful condition, bright colors with no staining to be seen. If you look closely at the top of the hat, you can see a few, very small moth bites, they are very difficult to see against the black wool. The cockades match themselves in design, have a painted finish, with the national cockade exhibiting some paint loss in the red center. The hat is not crushed or out of round, and is a beautiful example from a prestigious regiment of the Imperial Army.
