Original era manufacture. Outstanding matching set from the Royal Bavarian Army's premier Infantry Regiment. Bavarian blue wool tunic & trousers with red trim. Swedish cuffs on the tunic with silver crown buttons, embroidered yellow crown on red, original sewn shoulder straps. Gray cotton body lining with floral print cotton sleeve lining. There is some scattered perspiration staining but no tears or holes. The set is a private urchase, officers quality material throughout, no mothing to the tunic, with some minor mothing to the front of the trousers near the waistband. Two of the tunic buttons need to be resewn and there is a small black stain on the back of the right cuff, perhaps where the uniform sat against some patent leather equipment or helmet. There are leather straps on the trouser cuffs which are intended to button beneath the shoe instep. On the uniform at the time of our purchase is this original blue/white wool Bavarian marksmanship lanyard. It is in overall sound condition with some scattered wear to the surface. The uniform set is bright and clean and would make a wonderful display with a silver mounted Bavarian infantry pickelhaube. You just never see these waffenrocks complete with the trousers anymore.
