Original era manufacture. Chrome finished triple etched steel blade running fairly straight and true (just a hint of a bend near the point), measuring 33inches in length. Scattered areas of staining to the plating on the forward part of the blade, no major corrosion issues. Etched panels on each side of the blade with additional etching on the spine. Elaborate honorific title on the blade obverse, "Hus. Regt. Landgraf Friedrich II v. Hessen Fromburg (2 Kurrhess.) No.14". On the reverse a large panel depicting charging Hussars and Ulans. Steel folding guard in good repair, black molded covering over the wood grip. Steel scabbard displaying scattered surface dents, the blade can be easily drawn and inserted. Of the original black painted surface about 30% remains, the rest being a steel patina. Missing the suspension ring and band. The scabbard throat and screw are intact.
