Original era photography. A pressed paper memorial wall plaque, likely produced in 1888 to honor the passing of the recently crowned Kaiser. The image shows him wearing the 1870 Grand Cross of the Iron Cross, 1870 Iron Cross 1st Class and the ribbon for the 1870 Iron Cross 2nd Class.The plaque measures roughly 7 x 8 inches with an ornate black painted paper frame. Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm, married the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, their first born son would become Kaiser Wilhelm II. During the Franco Prussian war, he ably commanded the German III Army in the field, and later commanded the German forces during the Siege of Paris.1888 was the year of the three Kaisers, Kaiser Wilhelm I, Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm and Kaiser Wilhelm II. He was only Kaiser for three months before succumbing to throat cancer.
