Original era manufacture. Massive pattern blade measuring 30 mm in width at the base of the blade. Measures 34 inches in length, running straight and true, with a chrome finish and blued panels on each side. On the obverse the honorific title of Ulanen Reg. Grosherzong Friedrich von Baden (Rhein.) No.7 can be see, and on the reverse side, the inscription reads "Fur Ehr und Pflicht, bis Herz und Klingebricht" (For Honor and Duty to Heart and Soul). There is some evidence of a foolish attempt at sharpening of the edge, but no damage to the etching. The leather bumper is present at the base of the blade, massive non-folding, chromed alloy basket guard, with a black composition grip without chips or cracks. Chrome finished steel guard with about 90% of the original finish remaining. Few scattered shallow dents, and lifting and bubbling to the chrome finish. A nice solid sword attributed to a famous Ulan regiment.
