Original era manufacture. 34 inch, piped back chromed steel blade which is nearly 35mm wide at the ricasso. Unsharpened with a very bright finish, only some very light surface spotting, sharp tip. Deeply chisled brass guard and backstrap with a lionhead pommel. Original sharkskin grip showing some wear in a few spots, sound triple wire binding with portions of one of the thinner strands missing in a few spots. Crossed lances on one langet, shield shape on the other. The chromed steel scabbard has a few small spots of missing plating with two shallow dents near the tip. Brass bands with brass suspension rings. On the top of the blade spine is DEUTSCHER OFFIZIER VEREIN BERLIN. Very impressive sword.
