Original era manufacture. A private purchase waffenrock, as worn by a member of Grenadier Regiment Nr 1, which I believe is the oldest regiment in the Prussian Army, being raised in 1655.Dark blue wool body with a red collar and Brandenburg cuffs. There is a single wide litzen on the collar, with white wool straps displaying the cypher of the regiment. Gilt tombak buttons throughout, with the shoulder strap buttons displaying the number 4. There is a small size NCO rank button on the left side of the collar, but missing on the right side.Full body lining in black silk with white cotton sleeve lining. Some of the buttons appear to have been re-sewn, with a few niggling issues regarding some lifting to the vertical panel on the right cuff, and the ends of the shoulder straps need to be tacked down again. Happily, no moth issues to report.A very clean 100 year old tunic in very displayable condition, and, from one of Prussia's most prestigious regiments.
