Original era manufacture. Early pattern brass wappen, with a nickel alloy central star. Certainly the largest of the Imperial helmet plates, measuring nearly 9 inches, wingtip to wingtip if pressed flat. This wappen is curved to fit the front of a helmet, with screw posts on the reverse instead of the later brass loops.Distance between the screw posts measures 100 mm, pleasing brass patina finish.
