Original era manufacture. Early pattern brass wappen, with a nickel alloy central star. Certainly the largest of the Imperial helmet plates, measuring nearly 9 inches, wingtip to wingtip if pressed flat. This wappen is curved to fit the front of a helmet, with screw posts on the reverse instead of the later brass loops.Distance between the screw posts measures 90 mm, pleasing brass patina finish. The Garde star is held in place with small loops which pass through the body of the wappen, being held in place by tiny wooden wedges. The right side wedge is missing.
