Original era manufacture. A very nice private purchase quality waffenrock of blue wool, with black velvet collar and cuffs. Thick silver wire embroidered litzen on the collar, with matching litzen on the Swedish pattern cuffs.Red wool piping aound the cuffs, front tunic edge, rear skirts and collar top, with tombak buttons throughout. The body lining is of black silk, with white silk lining in the sleeves, and two pockets in the rear skirt area. The lining condition is very clean, showing minimal wear and use.The wool body of the tunic is bright and clean with no wear to the nap, at the front right portion of the tunic bodyare three moth bites, the largest of which measures 5x10 mm. The left front edge of the tunic has a small repaired snag in the cloth, and on the back a few more. It's too bad for the minor mothissues, but as the tunic is really in very nice condition overall, they represent what normally will be encountered with 100 year old uniforms. Small size, about a 36.*Collector Note, I believe this tunic represents the Garde Pioneer battalion, however it has tombak (gold color) buttons instead of silver. Another possibility would be Brandenburg Dragoon Regiment number 2, they had black collars and cuffs with litzen and used gold buttons, but, the tunic color on this example is a bit dark for corn flower blue.
