Original era manufacture. Square cut visor with a line pattern wappen with a small Prussian eagle at the base of the larger eagles breast feathers. Cruciform spike base (non-removable spike) secured with four (one missing) multi-pointed stars. Intact and complete, rounded scale chinstrap with Prussian and National cockades. Wide leather sweatband however the silk drape is missing. Overall the helmet is sound, visors are not too loose, the body is very slightly pressed in a bit, with the metal fittings showing and even, old, dark patina. There are no extra holes behind the wappen but no connecting nuts, in fact, the nuts holding the base stars in place are incorrect. They appear to be of aluminum and are hex nuts. Good restoration project.
