Original era manufacture. A sound early example which has not had its muzzle ring removed. Crown W proofed and dated 88 (the year of the three Kaisers) and is maker marked Alex.Coppel. The blade surface is basically bright, unsharpened with scattered areas of age spotting, the tip remains quite sharp. The wood grips are basically sound with a small chip on one side near the pommel. Even steel patina to the guard and pommel. Black leather bodied scabbard with sound stitching and steel chape and throat. There are non-matching unit numbers but they do match by the type of unit, T.S., medical company of a supply battalion.
