Original era manufacture. Issue bayonet with imperial proofs on the pommel (faint), scabbard throat and tip. The blade is maker marked by Simson Suhl and has been shortened. On the guard the Navy unit marks for the II S.B.345 can be seen, II Sea Battalion 3rd Company, 45th Weapon. On the scabbard throat similar markings may be seen 1st Sea Battalion. The steel surfaces now show a chromed finish for dress purposes. The scabbard has shrunk a tiny bit. Scarce bayonet.
